services to fellow practitioners.

Professional Highlights:
  • General Manager of Comfor Management Services Ltd. group of companies. This group included Burns Lake Community
    Forest Ltd., Endako River Timber Ltd., Sheraton Sawmills Ltd., and Lakescom Communication Ltd.
  • Chief Financial Officer for these firms prior to promotion to General Manager.
  • Divisional Accountant for West Fraser Lumber Ltd.
  • Founder and managing partner of Huxham & Co. for over twenty years building this firm from sole proprietorship to firm with
    five partners and offices in Courtenay, Campbell River, Port Hardy, Powell River and Port McNeill. This is successor firm to
    MNP that currently services Northern Vancouver Island.
  • Engagement partner on audit engagements with First Nation Groups, Regional Districts, School Districts, Hospitals, not for profits
    and many medium to large size private companies during this period.
  • Provided successful mediation and expert judicial testimony during this term in public practice.

  • Community Involvement:
    • Financial Agent for four political candidates.
    • Active member of United Church of Canada.
    • Active fundraiser and participant for the Maritime Heritage Center.
    • Past Director of Chamber of Commerce.
    • Past President of Rotary Club.

    Education:
    • Chartered Accountant degree awarded in British Columbia in 1973.
    • Undergraduate degree in the dual majors of Economics/Commerce(Honors) from Simon Fraser University.
    • Proficient in Excel, many general ledger programs, Acrobat, and other IT applications.
    • Very contemporary on audit techniques, C-Pem, QAM, and other innovations brought about with the Canadian acceptance of
      International Auditing Standards and other Assurance Engagement Procedures
    • Member of ISACA.

    Goals:
    • Provide meaningful assistance to fellow practitioners in dealing with CICA objectives and the issues being faced to successfully
      manage a public accounting practice.
    • Utilize my past experiences as a professional accountant and business manager.
